How to Stripping the Old Finish

Having determined what type of finish is on your floor, buy a floor stripping solution that will remove that type.

If you can't find the previous product used on your floor that matches the type of finish, try out a "universal" floor stripping solution.

Members can follow each other, write and reply to comments and receive blog notifications. Each member gets their own personal profile page that they can customize.

Tip:

Apply floor stripping solution and allow to sit for 5 to 10 minutes, but do not allow it to dry. The solution makes the floor slippery, avoid walking on it or do this carefully. If you are stripping a large floor, work in small sections to prevent it from drying out.

For large jobs, we recommend use an auto scrubber or rotary machine to get better shine results, If you do not have this equipment, you can hire CDG Cleaning Services.

At the end of the work, clean the remains of wax in baseboards using a doodle pad for this or a long handled razor blade tool such as a poll scraper.

Wash your floor using the clean mop and water bucket. Rinse several times to ensure all stripping solution is removed.

Wash all tools used, the stripping solution will dry into a hardened mess and ruin your tools.

When your floor is completely dry don't continue waxing your floor or the wax may not attach properly.
